Rome, November 2025 – Last week, Asociación MUNDUS had the pleasure of participating in the AMIL Project Workshop, held in Rome on 18–19 November 2025 — a collaborative event aimed at strengthening strategies and practices for the labour integration of migrants across Europe.

A heartfelt thank you goes to ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy for inviting us and for hosting such an enriching and well-structured workshop. Over two days, partners and active members of the Community of Interest collaborated through interactive sessions, practical exercises, and collective reflection, tackling some of the most urgent challenges faced by Third Country Nationals (TCNs) in accessing fair employment.

Workshop Highlights:

  1. Language Barriers & Recognition of Skills

Participants explored how language gaps and unrecognised qualifications affect access to employment, and how active-education and expressive methodologies can support inclusion.

  1. Navigating Support and Welfare Systems

Discussions focused on the legal and institutional obstacles migrants face when accessing essential services such as healthcare, housing, training, and social support, with good practices shared from Italy, Greece, and Cyprus.

  1. Hostile Attitudes and Discrimination

The workshop addressed how subtle and structural discrimination impacts TCNs in the workplace, and which frameworks and tools can help prevent and address these situations.

  1. Lack of Employer Engagement or Awareness

An important conversation on strengthening employers’ roles in migrant integration. Asociación Mundus contributed by presenting the initiative “Reviving the Thread Culture in Caspe” – Caspe City Hall as a best practice for the social and labour inclusion of migrant women in the textile sector, supported by the Federation of Aragonese Textile Industry (FITCA).

  1. Advocacy for Fair and Inclusive Labour Markets

A forward-looking session on strategies to influence policies, build alliances, and promote inclusive labour practices at local, national, and EU levels.

Participation in the AMIL Project Workshop reinforced the importance of coordinated, multi-stakeholder approaches to migrant inclusion. Asociación Mundus returns motivated, equipped with new tools, strengthened alliances, and a renewed commitment to supporting fairer labour markets and more inclusive communities.
