On the International Day of Education, we want to highlight a major educational achievement: a decade-long collaboration with G.S. Rakovski School and CDBS, two organizations from Bulgaria.
Since 2014, G.S. Rakovski School, CDBS and Mundus have been on an amazing collaboration journey. In 2024, we commemorate 10 years of continuous mobility and enriching experiences for the students from Varna who have been completing their Erasmus+ VET internship in Zaragoza and other Mundus Group locations.
Varna, Bulgaria 2024 – Quique Miana (CEO at Mundus) has traveled this week to the city of Varna in Bulgaria to visit the VTG Georgi Rakovski School and our partner organization Centre for Development and Business Support (CDBS) and celebrate our 10-year collaboration.
It all started when 40 students from the G.S. Rakovski School embarked on a journey to Zaragoza (Spain) to do their VET internship thanks to the Erasmus+ project.
“For many of us, this is our first flight, our first experience abroad and our first separation from home”, said one of those first students to come to Zaragoza with Mundus back in the day.
Since then, there have been dozens of students who have lived that same experience. Coming from educational fields such as marketing and administration, the students from Varna have done their internships in local companies that have welcomed them along with the Mundus team to Zaragoza.
This decade-long collaboration has not only offered valuable opportunities for the personal and professional development of these young students but has also forged lasting connections between Bulgaria and Spain. The youngsters, accompanied by their teachers and tutors, have not only enjoyed various cultural activities that the city offers but have also explored other parts of our region and country.
”It was a beautiful day!
We will never forget that Saturday, when our entire group, led by our Spanish guide, arrived at this Spanish Disneyland.
”Mundus had organized a bus tour and a visit to the Aljafería Palace for us.
Today we enjoyed the panoramic tour of the city, and each of us saw how much the other two groups had walked the day before.
In fact, Spain is "hot" - "hot"!!
Even though 3,000 kilometers separate us, we have managed to make both places feel like home.
This sense of closeness and familiarity among the three organizations (G.S. Rakovski School, CDBS and Mundus) has made it possible for students to continue coming even in challenging times for international mobility. In October 2020, with COVID still a major global concern, 20 students arrived in Zaragoza. Teachers, students, host companies, and Mundus staff had to adapt to a new reality after a six-month break. It was a unique but highly formative experience that included collaboration with trusted companies such as Colortech and Aida Gastro.
Thanks to that mutual trust, we have grown together. Allowing us to expand horizons and creating teams in new places to discover. In 2023, VTG Georgi Stoykov Rakovski students visited a new destination: the wonderful island of Fuerteventura, a more recent Mundus Group Location managed by the Sun Dreams Global team.
The Mundus Team is looking forward to many more years of educational collaboration. Cheers to our shared past, present, and future adventures together!
